چکیده
plate model, were calculated by the theory of statically indeterminate beam and the finite element method. The factors that have the greatest effect on thermal residual stress in the veneer are coefficient of thermal expansion, modulus of elasticity and thickness of the layers. The relation between these factors and thermal residual stress after firing were studied. The effect of physical and mechanical properties of the intermediate oxide layers and the effect of firing two laminated porcelains on metal were examined from these calculating results.

The effect of repeated porcelain firings on corrosion resistance of different dental alloys
PURPOSE The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of repeated porcelain firing process on the corrosion rates of the dental alloys. MATERIALS AND METHODS Cr-Co, Cr-Ni and Pd-Ag alloys were used for this study. Each metal supported porcelain consisted of 30 specimens of 10 for 7, 9 and 11 firing each. Disc-shaped specimens 10 mm diameter and 3 mm thickness were formed by melting alloys...
متن کاملShear bond strength of veneering porcelain to zirconia and metal cores
STATEMENT OF PROBLEM Zirconia-based restorations have the common technical complication of delamination, or porcelain chipping, from the zirconia core. Thus the shear bond strength between the zirconia core and the veneering porcelain requires investigation in order to facilitate the material's clinical use. PURPOSE The purpose of this study was to evaluate the bonding strength of the porcela...
متن کاملStress distribution in porcelain-fused-to-gold crowns and preparations constructed with photoelastic plastics.
Extensive restorations of single anterior teeth are accomplished by using porcelain jacket crowns or porcelain enamel or plastic veneer restorations supported by an alloy restoration that is luted to the tooth. The porcelain jacket crown has the advantage that less tooth tissue must be removed, but the material is brittle and lacks impact strength. Studies by McLean",2 have shown that these res...
متن کاملThe effect of multiple firings on microtensile bond strength of core-veneer zirconia-based all-ceramic restorations.
PURPOSE Differences in core and veneer coefficients of thermal expansion, firing shrinkage, and speed of increasing and decreasing the temperature may generate stress in veneered all-ceramic restorations. Given the necessity of performing multiple firing cycles to achieve improved contour, color, and esthetics, the purpose of this study was to determine the effect of multiple firing cycles on t...
متن کاملTemperature dependence of thermal expansion coefficient for palladium-based binary alloy.
Temperature dependencies of thermal expansion coefficients for the alloys of Pd-Ag, Pd-Cu and Pd-Co binary systems were measured at temperatures up to 900 degrees C, with heating and cooling rates of 5 degrees C/min. The coefficient of thermal expansion of alloys with no transformation in the temperature range of interest in porcelain firing was well approximated by a linear equation of tempera...
